Pseudonym Apr 3rd 2008 editedI'm with Leggett on the signature thing. The only things I've ever seen them used for is self-glorification or as a way to prove seniority. Without them, it forces members to be a little more eloquent with what they say. That's a positive in my book.
More of a question than a comment: How are you going to handle large images? With the website at a fixed with, what will happen if an image posted is larger than the allotted space on the page? Is there some restriction to how large the images can be? Or is there some scaling mechanism to make them fit the page? -

So far, we haven't had a problem with that, but as soon as I get the time to make some fixes to the theme (here and on the main site), I don't think we're going to have an issue with breaking the page layout. I'll setup the comments so that anything larger than the box creates a scrollbar for that individual comment.
It's a primitive fix, and I'll probably look for a way to auto size images larger that "X" width to make things a bit more elegant.
If we see people INTENTIONALLY abusing CSS and HTML, it will probably be a simply 1 warning or ban from the site. -
Iceberg Apr 3rd 2008This is a very interesting style you've implemented here. Although it seems superfluous at first to create an entire new section just to organize Categories rather than having them on the main forum page, I like the idea of a separate and more defined structure for topics. Overall, I give the creators (TheLegget is the only one I know...I think) two thumbs up for trying something new and effectively executing those ideas.

ramblex Apr 4th 2008One feature I miss from other forums is a 'go to last post' so I don't need to scroll through the same posts every time :)

That feature is actually present, go to "Account" in the upper navigation, click on the Forum Preferences on the right side and check the box "Jump to the last read comment when clicking on discussion topic"
Hope that helps -

To be fair, we did not come up with this idea by any means. We simply saw it being used in a few other forums, vanilla boards and ran with it. We think it makes much more sense this way ;) -

Signatures dA style would be awesome, I've spent more time there in the past few years than at most other websites and I must say the whole "signature culture" is overrated. Just text signatures are best for this site in my opinion. -

I don't understand the point, I can see your name right above your post? All it will add is a few more lines per page that really is redundant. I think once you start showing your stuff in the gallery, you can start putting your website in your post or the user will take it upon themselves to check out your portfolio for more stuff. I don't know what more is really necessary.
For reference, an image would look like this:
<img src="url to image" >
Furthermore, we have attachments, just like most other forum softwares.
And in regards to text signatures, those are frequently abused on forums to spam and advertise sites. You're free to share your sites in the Gallery, or in your profile however.
