I get your point, I mean, I use Vbulliten, Phpbb and IPB everyday and they all have different layouts and sometimes it's hard to remember whats what. Now I got another one :P
I like it, it's just, theres not enough sexy features like the popular ones.

What kind of "sexy" features are you missing?

Like I said, I don't think this looks like a forum at all. It looks like a place for commenting blogs.

We've already established that this is not meant to be like our previous forums, or one of the heavy-weight forum softwares out there.

This community forum is intended to facilitate intelligent discussions. We are not looking to create a "Graphics Battle Forum" with signatures and other meaningless graphics. There are thousands upon thousands of forums out there that already do this.

We are not looking to create a forum where members believe a higher post count establishes some sort of authority. Post Count is not a "Feature" this board lacks, we simply have it only show up on Account Profile Pages. It makes NO SENSE, absolutely none at all, to have post count show up by someones username. It simply perpetuates the (unfriendly) idea that a higher post count means a better member. This in turn encourages meaningless posts, where as our system will only encourage people to post if they have something worthwhile to say. On this note, I should also mention that we're adding a member award system that will distinguish our fine members.

We are not looking to create a forum where "Support" is low on the priority list. Most support forums (including the old GreyCobra) have Support WAY DOWN in the list of things, and our intelligent users almost never had the opportunity to lend a helping hand in the community. Tutorial9's new forum format shows lists of ALL RECENT messages on the front page, allowing everyone to see what's new immediately, and also offers a means of navigating the forum MUCH MORE QUICKLY than any other software I've used. I can easily see what's drawing attention by "Hot" topics, and also quickly navigate to discussions I've taken part in recently. At the same time, we don't lack the organization you see in other forums as categories still exist, and can be individually navigated.

So I guess, it comes down to what you are looking for. If you're looking for "Sig Battles", glossy buttons, and in general a place that feels impersonal, then this place is certainly not the forum to find those things.

If you're looking for a forum that runs smoothly, is quick, encourages intelligent conversations, is built to HELP the community, and really has a LOAD of features you won't find anywhere else, then you've certainly found the right place.

The post count is still there, you just need to click on the name and you'll see both how many discussions the person have started and how many comments he/she's added. I see no need to have the post count visible on every posted comment, if a person wants to know it's just a click away.

As I've said before in this thread, the more you beta testers tell us what you do and do not like — the easier it is for us to develop the community you're looking for.

To be quite fair, im a web developer myself and i personally think these forums are very well polished, proffesional and above all else, cuts the middle man out and gets down to the true business of what forum design should look like.

Who needs the fancy stuff like signatures? who needs all that stuff that invision board and phpBB stuff their packages with? i believe its the content that always makes a forum regardless of these stupid features.

I know that tutorial9 will continue to improve on its services here, it just needs time and input, but ive got to give a big praise to them, what theyve done with it, i love it! :) so keep up the hard work guys

Hmm, Maybe. But Signatures and such images give members characteristics and there own style and in a graphics forum in would be particularly useful as members can show off there latest pieces without having to start topics all he time.
I don't know though, something just bothers me. It just feels to cluttered despite the simple look.
I see we have a few cool statistics on members profiles which is cool.

We've gone over signatures again and again, and why they are a bad idea. I won't rant again on that subject, but I'll sum them up in a few words:

Signatures are meaningless, juvenile, and do not belong on a support forum such as Tutorial9.
