This is a must have for any web developer/designer
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/60

The firefox add-on called the Web Developer Toolbar. I use it constantly.

To each his own, I tried it for a while but didn't much care for the extra toolbar. I like my Firefox skinny. ;)

I've used that one before, but I find https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1843 (Firebug) to be much more what I want.

I heard Firebug slows down FF considerably, anyone heard otherwise?

Its a neat plugin though, though I prefer my Cyberduck (Transmit someday soon..) for now.

Cyberduck/Transmit is nothing like Firebug... it's for completely different tasks, or maybe you meant something else?

Either way, I haven't had any problems with Firebug slowing down Fx, it's a very powerful tool and helps me so much when it comes to developing websites.

Oh, GreaseMonkey is another great one, love to be able to re-code websites I visit a lot to make them fit me more. It's a brilliant piece of plug-in if you haven't tried it before. Head over to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748 and you might want to check http://userscripts.org/
It's easy to code yourself but the community has some great scripts that might fit your needs etc. Love it!

Is Firebug not the FTP plugin for Firefox?
  8. Fredrik Apr 21st 2008
Nope, Firebug is a web developer plug-in, this is what they write on their own site (GetFirebug.com)
"Firebug integrates with Firefox to put a wealth of web development tools at your fingertips while you browse. You can edit, debug, and monitor CSS, HTML, and JavaScript live in any web page."

Oh crap. *inserts foot in mouth*

Still, no big fan, makes things too easy. Old skool all the way, notepad is where it's at!

ah ha, notepad all the way. I think you were thinking of FireFTP for firefox. Another great addition to the firefox browser. :)
