I think since there's already some tuts on here having only a few lines talking about some really minor issues, that actually might help out work (wether photography or graphic design, doesn't matter). I think we need a round of tutorials containing small tips/effects things that are very easy to do but that can make a difference to your work.

For example, as stupid as it sounds, I'm getting very annoyed by the fact that I don't know how to frame pictures! As it may complete the look, though a minor thing to do. Get my point?

That's definitely something we could incorporate into our future "Quickie" posts. I'll try to throw a few extras in the mix every now and then ;)

I don't really think composition is a quickie.. There's an entire book called Graphic Communications Today (I have the fourth edition) and it goes on about composition among other graphic design principles - but composition is really a mix with the right type - color - placement - setting - message, and all that jazz.

You could have a really soft design with flowing elements OR you could have a eye-catching design that visually stimulates the senses to explore with some insane graphics and typeface.

Well I think that depends on what effects we're talking about, but for the future quickie or no quickie more tutorials on ways to make your work look better won't hurt.
