that's like the cheapest decent system ever.
But from what I'm reading (and I'm not a huge hardware guy, so don't take my words as gold - but I'm in the market for myself) that system is likely not going to last you that long. -

so it would be a decent system... but won't last long?
why do you think that? -
Iceberg Aug 13th 2008The processor seems like the part that'll seem the oldest in a few years. 2.4 ghz isn't too fast.

First of all, what are you going to be using it for?
If you're not going to be gaming or doing heavy video editing you can get away with a really cheap video card. Some photo and design software are beginning to take more advantage of the graphic card... so it would be great to know what you're intending to be using the computer for.
I don't have much knowledge when it comes to motherboards, so I can't really comment on that. The processors 1 MB cache might be at the minimum end, but once again depending on usage. The speed of the processor (2.2 GHz) is not the most important thing to pay attention too, it's just like megapixels in cameras - it's mostly sales talk that has gone a bit astray.
To me 160GB hard drive seems way to small, but then again I have close to 3TB (3000 GB) in my machine...
The RAM, DVD-drive and case looks good from what I can tell
