Web Development Support: What Websites do you go to for Inspiration?

    The design process is a really difficult thing to get started. Everything from choosing a good layout design, the identity, usability, to the colors you use can be a tough decision to make.

    Are there any websites or resources you sometimes use to help get you started?

    I've browsed through a few books and web galleries myself, and here are the ones I've found to be helpful:

    The First two on my list are good mostly for people who do both web design and development... the last one is good for people who just design. Deviantart is probabaly the best place to go for originality.

    These are some great sites! Many of which I use frequently...I would add the following to the list, which can be good for just layout inspiration or for peaking under the hood at some beautiful examples of CSS based sites.

    I usually go to the library and pick up any book with CSS and/or XHTML. I have always found them to be a big help in coding a website.

    Edit: I feel stupid. I thought meant inspiration to keep coding a website. TO design I go to Deviant ART.

    Most of the inspiration comes from the environment I live in, but if you ask for a site it must be Deviantart

    Depends on the mood, usually deviantART for me though.

    I found this site from that Freelance Switch site you shared Faith: CSS Remix

    I'm sure I've been there before, and I think that it is also a great site for inspiration in web layout design. There are some great looking websites there!

    I mostly use magazines for my web development resources, i buy a monthly edition of Imagine Publishing's "Web Designer" magazine. Some of the stuff they have in their content is unbelievable and it teaches you alot and also inspires. Should spare a few pennies on them and check it out, will deffinetly improve your whole idea of web designing!
